Advancement Project

Advancement Project is a democracy and justice action group. They work with communities seeking to build a fair and just multi-racial democracy in America. Using law, public policy and strategic communications, Advancement Project acts in partnership with local communities to advance universal opportunity, equity and access for those left behind in America.

Campaign for America's Future

America's Future insists that the question of falling wages and rising insecurity be placed at the center of our national debate. We challenge those who suggest that nothing can be done and expose the conservative agenda that has made things worse. America's Future works to revitalize a progressive agenda, and fights to make this economy work for working people once again. We engage citizens, activists and political leaders in a renewed debate about the kind of country — and the kind of world — we want to build for the generations yet to come.

Coalition of Essential Schools

We envision a world in which all children receive the nurturance, guidance, and resources they need to reach their fullest potential. Our mission is to create and sustain equitable, intellectually vibrant, personalized schools and to make such schools the norm of American public education.

Education Voters Institute

The Education Voters Institute envisions a nation in which every child graduates from high school prepared for college, civic engagement, and success in life, and in which every graduate has access to affordable higher education. We envision a rededication of public policy and public funds to the historic purpose of public education: preparing each student for engagement in society and lifelong learning. We envision Americans across the country engaged in common pursuit of that purpose. Our mission is to build public support for education policies that promote that vision, by getting people like you involved in this important work.

The Five Freedoms Network

The Five Freedoms Network is an online community of educators, students and citizens who share a commitment to First Amendment freedoms, democratic schools, and the idea that children deserve to be seen and heard.

A virtual "public square" for the 21st century, the Network is made up of a growing list of members from different places, perspectives, and points of interest. Visit network.fivefreedoms.org to share your voice today.

Public Education Network

Public Education Network (PEN) is a national association of local education funds (LEFs) and individuals working to advance public school reform in low-income communities across our country. PEN seeks to build public demand and mobilize resources for quality public education for all children through a theory of action that focuses on the importance of public engagement in school reform.

Rethinking Schools

Rethinking Schools began as a local effort to address problems such as basal readers, standardized testing, and textbook-dominated curriculum. Since its founding in 1986, it has grown into a nationally prominent publisher of educational materials, with subscribers in all 50 states, all 10 Canadian provinces, and many other countries.

Small Schools Project of the Coalition of Essential Schools

The Coalition of Essential Schools Small Schools Project, a five-year initiative funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, seeks to enhance the character, quality, and sustainability of small schools while spurring broader change in the public education system. The project involves the creation of 10 new CES public high schools, the conversion of five existing large high schools into small schools, the formation of a network of 20 "mentor schools" and the launch of CES ChangeLab, a web site with behind-the-scenes access to the tools and strategies of the CES Mentor Schools.

SRN LEADS

The School Redesign Network (SRN) was established in 2000 at Stanford University to build, capture and share research-based knowledge to transform secondary schools and school systems. Our mission is to help support and sustain equitable schools and districts that are intellectually rigorous, high performing, and designed to help all students master the knowledge and skills needed for success in college, career and citizenship.

The Leadership, Equity & Accountability in Schools and Districts (LEADS) network was established in 2006 to further the work of SRN specifically at the district level. LEADS applies cutting-edge knowledge from scholars and practitioners in education and business to the complex challenges confronting urban school systems. LEADS operates on the principle that equitable and high-achieving school systems require powerful classroom instruction supported by performance-driven central offices.

The National Center for Fair & Open Testing (Fair Test)

Fair Test works to end the misuses and flaws of standardized testing and to ensure that evaluation of students, teachers and schools is fair, open, valid and educationally beneficial. They place special emphasis on eliminating the racial, class, gender, and cultural barriers to equal opportunity posed by standardized tests, and preventing their damage to the quality of education.
